Riding History: Val was born to and upper class family in Finland. He started riding when he was just three years old, riding on his mother's Dutch Warmblood. By the time he was seven, he knew a good bit about horses and how to care for them, just by watching his parents and following them around the barn. By age twelve, he was riding by himself.

But it was also about this time that fate had another plan for his life. While he was at a friend's house one night, his parents were involved in a car accident on the way back from a movie. Niether survived the crash, leaving little Val all alone at the age of twelve. Well, not all alone, as the courts decided that he should be sent to live with his only known family, his uncle Victor, who had moved to Canada years before.

Rebelious at this turn of events, Val became a problem child, a problem that led on into his teens. Now 19, he attends an academy for his only real love in life - horses and riding.
