LUCAS -- JAMES -- BLACKWELL !
BASICS...
Face Claim: Ed Speleers
Full Name: Lucas James Blackwell
Nicknames: Luke
Hair Colour: Blond
Eye Colour: Brown
Height: 6'1"
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Occupation: Construction Worker
Goal at AEA: Luke has many goals that he wants to achieve both while at AEA and with his own life. First things first, though: he really wants to get Snapshot trained for showing. As a retired racehorse, Snapshot still has a lot of speed in him and not enough show quality. Luke has taken on the job of bringing the horse into a disciplined attitude. Second, Luke wants to earn enough money to start paying for college by himself. With his work with the construction company, he manages to put a little aside each month so that one day he'll be able to leave and get his degree in Astronomy and finally get away from that construction (he hates the job, but it pays well). Lastly, Luke is looking for a relationship. There has to be someone out there, right? And he hasn't had a girlfriend ever since he left Vancouver.
Five Likes:
Five Dislikes:
- Strawberries (blech)
- Cats (kittens are usually okay, but full-grown cats are just creepy)
- Deserts/Any place where the weather is too hot
- People that don't take care of their horses
- People that try to show off their horses too much (their friends, not trophies)
HOME LIFE...
Parents: Helen (45) and Thomas (46) Blackwell
Siblings: Kayla (16) and Rowan (17)
Other:
Riding History: Luke first began his riding lessons when he was eight years old and had continuously begged for lessons for six months. His parents gave in, and he was immediately immersed in the world of English riding. He began to compete in show jumping competitions, and by the time he was twelve he was starting to win some of the bigger shows in town. His parents, encouraged by his increase in skill, bought Luke his first horse, Maze, when he was fifteen. He and Maze were a stunning pair in the ring, especially since Luke had decided to add on some of his own training for Maze since the horse had appeared to lack a lot of discipline before coming to Luke's ownership. Luke joined AEA when he was seventeen, but he had to leave Maze behind in Vancouver since his parents couldn't afford to keep Maze anymore. Luke used the lesson horses and graduated a year later.

Example Post: (This one's kind of short. If you want, I can pull some posts from other websites that are much, much longer than this.)It was exhilarating, really. Luke couldn't seem to get enough of it. He felt Snapshot move beneath him, each lunging stride pushing them farther and farther down the trail as the landscape rushed by like it did in the movies. He felt his hand clutch Snapshot's reins a little tighter before he sat back in the saddle, an obvious order for the horse to slow down a little. The landscape stopped rushing by so fast as Snapshot slowed to an easy canter, but Luke could still feel the horse tugging on the reins, begging to be released again. There was definitely still some racehorse left in him, but that's not entirely what Luke wanted anymore.
"C'mon, Snapshot. You've had your fun," Luke said as he patted Snapshot affectionately on the shoulder. "This may just be a trail, but we're still going to work on your gaits today. I don't care how much you like to speed up, it's still not the proper thing to do. You're not trying to outrun anyone anymore." Snapshot's ears swiveled back and forth on his head before settling. Both ears were pointed back to Luke, so the young man took some solace that at least Snapshot would pay some attention today. That horse always had some tricks up his sleeve, especially if Luke wasn't paying attention.
