Payton was out in the barn this afternoon. She wanted to see Knight before she when on her way to the mall. It had been a few days since she had come an seen him. It was only around 12:30 so she had time for a quick ride and could still go home and shower before she had to leave. She walked down the hall and to the gelding's shall. The bay thoroughbred whinnied to her and she smiled. He was the only one that didn't judge her for who she was or what she did. Brain hated her. That wasn't true Brian loved her just as much as she loved him, but they just seemed to fight these days.
She sighed and patted the Gelding as she opened the stall door and stepped in. She had just got him and they already act as if they had known each other forever. She grabbed his black halter from a hook on the outside of the stall. She placed it on his head and opened the stall door. She walked him over to the cross tied and clipped the leads to his halter. Knight pawed at the ground in excitement. He knew this meant he was going to go out for a ride. She walked to the tack room and got her brushes and things. She spent a good few minutes brushing and and getting the knots from his mane and tail.
She walked back to the tack room with her things and put them back in her home. She grabbed her jumping saddle and a bridle. She put the saddle on first then removed his halter and put his bridle on. She feed him some sugar cubes and walked him out of the barn. She mounted him and tapped her heels into his side. The gelding almost jumped forward in excitement. She laughed a little at him. Soon they were at the outdoor arena. She opened the gate and lead him in. She feel him tense under her. She tapped him forward into a canter around the rail to warm him up.
After a few rounds she turned him toward the jumps. She lined him up for one and he jumped over it easily. It was a low jump. She was warming him up. She had talked to a trainer about perfecting his and her skills. Miranda was her name if Payton remembered right. She couldn't wait to get the gelding to a show and she what place they could get. She lined him up for a higher jump. The gelding tossed his head a bit in excitement. She smiled. And will easy he collected himself and flow over that jump as well. After about an hour she pull him to the rail at a slow canter to cool him down. After a few rounds she pulled him to a stop and patted his neck. 'Good boy, Knight.' She turned him to the gate and exited the arena. She walked him back to the barn and dismounted.
The gelding whinnied and nudged her gently as she grabbed the rein to lead him inside. She smiled and grabbed a few sugar cubes from her pocket. The gelding lipped at them and they were quickly gone from her hand. She rubbed his nose and lead him into the barn. Once more she clipped him to the cross ties. She quickly untacked him and brushed him down. She took everything back to the tack room. She grabbed a lead rope and then headed to the feed room to measure up Knight's feed for the afternoon.
She unclipped him from the cross ties to clip the lead rope to him. Walked him to his stall and dumped his feed in the feeder in it. She up clipped the lead and exited the stall. She took the lead back to the tack room. She from there went to the loft to get him so hay. She came back with a size part of a bale of hay. She tossed it into the stall. She leaned against the door and watched Knight eat. She started to day dream a bit. She mind wondering to were she could go with this horse.
