She needed to see Blitz. Hiking past the stables, the rings, and the cluster of people, she hopped the fence and placed her ring finger and thumb at the corners of her mouth before giving a sharp whistle. The sound of thundering hooves reached her ears before she caught sight of the black stallion. Taking off the gloves, she jammed them into her pocket before threading her fingers through his mane and reaching up to brush her lips along his nose. "Heyo, bud. Practice after I get done with the job that puts money in my pocket, alright?" She cooed sweetly, scratching his forehead.
When he snorted and tossed his head in response, she lifted her hand to her own mouth to stifle a giggle. "I don't like it anymore than you do, but I have to do something to get those sugar cubes in your gut, unless you'd rather join the circus, Blitz.." She mused, mischief twinkling in her pallid gaze as he snorted once more and stamped his hoof rather suddenly. Shrugging her shoulders, she patted his neck before moving to his side and swinging her 5'1'' frame onto his back with ease, despite the fact he was 15.3hh. The familiar sensation of lean muscle rippling beneath her caused for the smallest of smiles to flicker across her taut lips as her fingers threaded through his mane and her calves relaxed, albeit tensing somewhat against his sides to keep her anchored to him. "Shall we?" She purred, shifting her weight as she lightly pressed her heels into his sides to get him to walk while using the muscles in her calves and the mane tangled in her fingers to let him know the directions she wanted him to go.
After a moment, she patted his neck and freed her hands from his mane to tug on her gloves. Once the fabric enveloped her hands once more, she catapulted herself lightly off of his back, taking the impact within the soles of her feet as she bounced back into a standing position. "Good boy, Blitz.." She murmured, offering him the sugar cube that had been hiding away in her pocket. Sure, she may act like an ice queen, but she genuinely cared about the black stallion before her. "Go and play, doof.." She teased him, giving him one last hug before heading back to the fence that she had jumped previously.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP Luke leaned against the stall that held his new mustang, Blue. He still couldn't believe he had done it. Going to the BLM was only meant to be a nice trip to see if they needed any volunteers. Instead, he ended up meeting Blue and buying her on the spot. It was nice that they had gone through all the trouble of training her at such an early age. That, and her mild temperament had made her extremely desirable to Luke. Snapshot was beginning to get on his nerves with his fireball of energy and Luke just needed a horse that he could relax with. Luckily he had been able to find that in Blue. The little mare poked her head out of her stall and gave Luke a light nudge on the shoulder to let him know that she was there and she wanted attention.
"Alright, alright," Luke said as he gave Blue a pat on the forehead. "Hey, I haven't given you the full tour yet. It's good to get acquainted with your surroundings, and this should probably do the trick." He pulled Blue's navy-colored halter and lead rope off the hook from the side of her stall and pulled it over her head. Unlatching the door to her stall, he pulled softly on the lead, just enough to let Blue know that she needed to step forward to get out of her stall. She easily complied, and Luke closed the door behind her in one swift movement.
"Okay, where to?" Luke mused. He glanced up at Blue for a second before he began to walk forward. "The pastures should be a good place to start." Blue obediently followed with only a slight shake of the head. Luke smiled as he thought about his luck. He knew how rare it was to find such a well-mannered horse in a mustang, and Blue was even better than he expected. He couldn't wait to get a saddle on the mare and see how she handled dressage and many of the other disciplines he knew. Considering how she was behaving now, he could tell she was going to fare wonderfully.
The pair left the stables and meandered down the path toward the pastures Luke pointed out things along the way like he was tour guide. He didn't care how stupid he looked talking to a horse; they were friends, not simply pets. Besides, he had to wonder how much they understood what he was saying. Maybe all this meant something to Blue. Either way, she was getting a soft voice and a gentle hand now, and what else could a horse like her want? As they neared the pastures, Luke noticed one of the girls from the stables riding her horse bareback. It was only a walk, and the horse didn't look like it minded, but Luke's brows furrowed in concern anyway. Blue snorted and bobbed her head a few times as the pair slowed to a stop near the girl and her stallion. She had just dismounted and was heading back to the fence where they were.
"Hey!" Luke called. "Are you sure that's entirely safe? I mean, what if he tries to throw you or something." Luke hated sounding like a downer, but he couldn't help being at least a little worried. He didn't normally ride bareback, especially with Snapshot, but even then it was in an arena where other people were around just in case he got hurt.
