Riding History:growing up in a wealthy family, izzy was thrown into horseback riding lessons when she was around four years old. although at first she hated it, izzy grew to love riding, especially on the trails. when she got a little older, izzy began eventing on her first pony. she did quite well, and was able to increase her difficultly level. by the time she was thirteen, her father bought her a thoroughbred gelding that would take her very far in the showing circuit. when she was fourteen, izzy and her mother were on their way back from a horse show with izzy's gelding when they were hit by a tractor-trailer. her horse had to be put down, and her mother was put on life support, where they eventually pulled the plug. izzy has been from horse to horse since then, always doing ok, but not winning as much as she once was. thats when her father decided to send her to the equine academy with her newest horse, a warmblood mare.

Example Post: minimum 200 words!Ruby continued down the path that led to the arena. She decided to get on from the ground instead of the mounting block, so that she wouldn't lose the skill. She placed the reins over May's head, and pulled down her stirrups. She checked the girth one final time, and reached her leg up into the stirrup. Even though Ruby was small, and May was tall, she hopped on her other foot, and on the third bounce, she swung her other leg over the mare's back. She gathered up her reins, and closed her legs on the mare's sides.
When Ruby gave this command, May breathed in deep and began walking. Ruby liked her long stride already. Finally they arrived at the arena, and May was ready to do more. She reached over, and unclipped the gate. She guided May through, and then performed a turn on the forehand so she was facing the gate again. She pulled it shut, and began walking around the ring, making sure May wouldn't spook at anything. After a lap, Ruby gave the mare some more leg, pushing her into a trot. The mare had long, quick strides, and Ruby felt like she was in heaven. Then after she thought about what had just run through her mind, she almost broke into tears. The thought of her brother- the car- the flash of light- the music blaring. They were her least favorite memories; they were the last five seconds of her brothers life.
Ruby decided that it was time to ask for a canter, and figured that it would help clear her mind. She squeezed her outside leg, but got no response. Then she waved the crop in front of the mare's eyes, and she broke into a quick canter. Ruby sat deep in the saddle, and after a couple of laps in each direction, decided that she needed more speed. She slowed down May, and adjusted her stirrups so she could get into a jockeys' crouch. She asked for a trot, posting quickly to match May's stride, and in the corner, got into a crouch and gave her the signal; a hard squeeze, and the wave of the crop next to their eye. May broke into a gallop, and they went around for about ten minutes until Ruby slowed her to a walk.
Deciding that May had enough energy to jump, Ruby hopped down and put up a few cross rails and a couple of verticals. She decided it would be better to raise them later. She headed back to May, and mounted from the ground again. She went to the end of the arena, and moved her to the center. She lowered her stirrups for a good jumping length, and went back out to the rail.
In the corner, she asked for a canter, and circled before heading to the first cross rail. She went straight to it, squeezing at the base, preparing for the next jump. To her surprise, May had a jump like some of the steeple chasers that she used to race. She used an automatic release, and aimed for the next jump. Ruby asked for a lead change, seeing that they landed on the incorrect lead. She felt the flying change, and put her focus onto the next cross rail. Again, they lept over it with no effort. Ruby turned near the other end of the ring, preparing herself for the verticals. There was a bounce spread, followed by a 3' vertical. She squeezed at the base of the first jump, allowing her body to fold with May's, and grabbed a chunk of mane in the one stride they had until the next jump. Once again they were in the air, and they landed with a soft thud on the sand. She righted her position, and headed to the larger vertical. Ruby let the mare figure it out on her own, and shut her eyes, putting all her trust in the horse. She felt May take off, and once again opened her eyes. They were in mid-jump, and Ruby braced herself for the landing. When May had all fours on the ground, she let out a buck of joy, and shook her head.
Ruby slowed the mare to a walk after this, planning on cooling her off. She dropped her stirrups, and went to the rail, letting her reins loosen. Her pink hair was plastered to her fore head, and she was thinking about riding down to the beach. She was still debating this thought, but decided to stay in the ring for the time being.
