Turning and heading out of the lounge at the opening of the door she smiled as she hustled towards the stalling unite. Watching for Moonlight's gray dome she found her stall. Seeing her in the stall munching on hay her face beamed. "Hey Girl. Remember me?" She asked as she stepped in.
The mares head rose and a nicker emanated from her vocals. A smile crossed Cheyenne's face as she walked over and hugged the mare. "I knew you wouldn't forget me after three days." Kissing her cheek she grabbed the halter and opened the stall door leading the mare to a set of cross ties. Clipping her halter she grabbed her brushes and began working over her gray coat. Looking for Lucas she called out. "Want to go on a trail ride? It's such a glorious day!"
Stepping into the tack room she grabbed Moon's tack and setting the saddle and pads on a saddle rack she hung the bridle on a halter rack outside of her mares stall. Making sure that all the dirt and saw dust was off the mares back she grabbed the saddle pad and placed it on the mares back. Next, placing the saddle on the mares back and tightened the girth loose while she waited. Bridling her she put the halter where the bridle had been and then looked for Lucas and Snapshot who looked like he was a handful. "You two ready?" she called watching Snapshot jump around.

oh i could hide ‘neath the wings OF THE BLUEBIRD AS SHE SINGS—the six o’clock alarm would never end Luke followed Cheyenne inside and put all her bags down inside the lounge. They were slightly on the heavy side, but it was no different than carrying around all the stuff he had for Snapshot. Some of that horse's equipment was heavier than it looked, especially his blankets. He really seemed to like the heavy blankets for some reason. As Cheyenne moved on to grab Moonlight, Luke did the same for Snapshot. He stepped out of the lounge and hastened over to his stallion's stall. Before he was even halfway down the aisle he cold already hear the excited nickers and steps of his horse. Man, that horse was going to be a handful today. Then again, he hadn't been able to visit for a few days, so obviously he was itching for a ride. That horse really had some energy, and it had to be burned off or else he would get on the dangerous side of excited.
"Okay, okay, big guy. I'm here. You can stop squirming and relax. I have to be able to groom you, you know," Luke said as he pulled the halter over Snapshot's head and attached the lead rope. The horse snaked his head around Luke in an attempt to nip his shoulder, but Luke caught him before he could get too close. "Not today, Snapshot. You need to behave or I'll have to put you on the hot walker again. I know how much you hate that thing." Luke led his horse out of his stall and made his way over to the cross ties. "A trail ride sounds nice," he said in reply to Cheyenne as he clipped Snapshot into the cross ties. The horse pranced around in place and stomped his hooves a few times before Luke managed to get close enough to get a brush on him. Once the brush made contact, Snapshot immediately calmed. His head dropped and his ears drooped lazily to the sides. Half-closed eyes peered at Luke from time to time as the brushes cleaned out all the dirt and shedded hair on his coat.
"I swear, you are one of the strangest horses I've ever had to deal with," Luke commented as he groomed the gray stallion. Once he finished, he quickly placed Snapshot's tack on and unclipped him from the cross ties. The moment Snapshot was released from the ties, he instantly began to prance around again. Luke frowned but held tightly to Snapshot's reins. There was no way that this horse was getting away from him today. In comparison, Moon and Cheyenne looked like a perfectly calm and serene pair. Luke couldn't say he was jealous of their discipline, but it would be nice to have a calmer horse every once in a while. That's what he got for being too busy to come in for the past few days, though.
"Yep, we're ready to go. Actually, I think Snapshot's a bit more than ready, don't you think?" Luke chuckled. He led Snapshot over to the mounting block and got on quickly before the horse could run off. With a tug on the reins he turned around and waited patiently for Cheyenne. "Where to?"[/color he asked.

Cheyenne watched as Snapshot danced around. She wondered what the bundle of energy in that horse felt like. She watched as Lucas quickly mounted and pulled him under check. She used the mounting block next and lightly lowered herself into her saddle and pulled up Moonlight next to Snapshot. “Well how about we take the trails and go where ever the lead us.” she spoke moving Moonlight into a walk and slowly pushed her into a trot posting at the beat of her gate.
She liked just randomly taking any trail that came up in their way when riding. It made the ride more adventurous, even if you knew where all the trails led. Pushing Moonlight into a trot she looked back and saw Luke struggling with Snapshot. "I'm going to beat you!" she laughed as she crouched over Moonlights withers and clucked pushing her into a faster gait. She was glad that the path was wider here.
She was going to burn some of that energy out of Snapshot. She wanted him to calm down and enjoy the ride, she wanted him to just figure out that it wasn't always about being a wound up bundle of energy but to have fun and let that energy out only when riding. Then when they made it to the meadow that was at the top of this trail she wanted to see if she could work with him away from the barn and get him to calm and collect himself. She might have to break into her herbal essences and slip a few drops into his water.
